Subject: Kirby Puckett
Anyone outside of Minnesota hear the story on Kirby Puckett? At a local restaurant, allegedly forced a woman into a men's restroom and fondled her. He was charged in Hennepin County today.
He's the most popular sports figure ever in this state, and it's hard to believe.
Subject: Re: Kirby Puckett
That is unbelieveable, especially since Puckett is allegedly blind in one eye. (NPI)

Just because he is blind in one eye doesn't mean his hands don't work. I heard about this this weekend and I hope it isn't true. If it is true, I hope they prosecute him to the full extent. They shouldn't let him off with a hand slap just because he is Kirby Puckett.

...do we get "The Ballad of Kirby Puckett" (to the tune of The Ballad of Davy Crockett)
Born in Chicago in Illinois
He played with power and he played with poise
He played baseball with all of the boys
He played with girls - that's when he annoys
Kirby, Kirby Puckett, king of the fondliers
;-)

LOL! ;D Good point, dagwood!
I agree that if he's guilty they should prosecute him the same way they'd punish anybody else. It's always too bad to see a star fall, but they are human, and should be treated as such, be it for the good or for the bad.

Maybe, but how could he see what his hands were doing? He might use that as an alibi.

:'( Ahhh.... Kirby was just Right, in the way no athletes are right anymore. This state LOVED him in a way we never loved anyone before... not Humphrey, not Killebrew, not anyone. My niece met him outside of a pizza joint in '92 when she was five and her jaw dropped. He noticed it, stopped to say hi and shake her hand. There was nothing to be gained by doing that... he's just a decent guy.

To answer your question, Dag, some might say that it would be hard to see with one eye, leave alone two. A co-worker is also blinded in one eye. And he has to strain his other one to read documents. In an alleged court of law, anything's possible. :(
