Subject: LOCH NESS CREATURE
I spent some time up at Loch Ness several years ago, partly for research purposes and partly for curiousity.
Although there is a lot of controversy surrounding this topic, especially in the light of certain famous photos & sightings being discrdited as hoaxes, what cannot be dismissed are the countless stories related to me by sane, normal everyday people who have no axe to grind in telling 'what they saw'
I am still undecided on my views as to whether something lurks in the dark, icy depths of Loch Ness
Does anyone out there have any views on this fascinating subject or maybe visited the Loch and saw something they couldn't explain

I really don't know what to think about it. There's so much in the waters that we don't know about. My friend from Scotland says that it's really deep and know one can't tell for sure what's under there.
It would be really nice if we can go down there with a submarine to see.

I don't know what to think. It would be nice to think that something has survived from the dinosaur age and is in the Loch. I wonder if we will ever really find out. ???
Subject: Re: LOCH NESS CREATURE
Well whatever it is, it must be really, really old by now, considering how long people have been "seeing" it for.

I don't believe there is a "Loch Ness Monster". However, how can we prove something we have neither got evidence of, nor have consciously "not seen". ie, if something exists out there, and we haven't found it yet, despite our continuing search of outer space, we can't rule out that somewhere something exists. In my opinion, anyway.

I'll say one thing for those monsters, Damn good eatin' if you cook-em right!

LOL! ;D

I don't believe it. I imagine the thing would have to be dead by now for as long as it's supposedly been around. Plus, for the length of time and the number of people who have been searching for it...it just doesn't figure out. It's gotta come up for air at some point lol. However I would be quite surprised if one night I found Loch and Big Foot playing poker in my living room ;D

I always used to believe it, and I'd love to still be able to..but I saw a special that debunked the pictures we all grew up seeing, so it's a bit harder to believe in now. Although, I have seen lots of stories similiar to it on tv too, so hey, who knows?? ;)

Considering we can now map the ocean floor from space, all we'd need to do would be to do a few sweeps of the lake from space with a satellite and see if there's any inconsistencies that can't be explained -- large dinosaur shaped objects and so forth. Thing is, while people continue to believe there's a beastie there, there will be.

I still believe there's a strong possibility of something odd there - and in Okanagan, Champlain, etc.
Don't make the mistake of thinking there's only 1 per lake. There could be just enough to reproduce. And the things may be small and few enough that finding carcasses is rare.
Circumstantial evidence should count for something if there's plenty of it. There have been many stories about the creatures. Doesn't mean they're all valid, doesn't mean they're all honest, but surely when lots come out, there must be something to them.
And in fact, as I recall the 1st modern sighting that really got this kicked off was in the '30s by a couple who claimed they saw this large thing lumbering on land, and when they scared it it ran into the water.
Yes, I'm a nut; I believe in this possibility as well as aliens and (definitely) ghosts.
