Subject: Who is the greatest quarterback?

I believe John Elway is the greatest quarterback there is.
I really think he had potential, heart and athleticism. He  showed it in every game. I also like Joe Montana, and Dan Marino.

Of course it's Ken O'Brien - NY Jets  ;)

I agree with Thursday, Joe Montana is the best ever.

Johnny Unitas.

Not saying that just cuz he just died (I kinda figure that's why this question is here), or because he's a Baltimore player.

My parents have been football fans for ages (my dad from Maine) and I put alot of stock in what they say.  Johnny controlled the game - called the plays, Johnny threw perfectly w/no pullback stutter, etc.  Not to mention all the records he held.

Joe Montana and John Elway had the comeback wins. Dan Marino and Dan Fouts had the stats. Steve Young had the rating. Troy Aikman had the stamina. Warren Moon had the arm, and Randall Cunningham had the athleticism. And the jury's stillout on Brett Favre, Rich Gannon, Jeff Garcia, and Peyton Manning. But many would consider Sammy Baugh, Otto Graham, Fran Tarkenton, Roger Staubach or John Unitas better than any of them

I would have to go with Elway.

I don't think its possible to say whos the best ever . Its apples and oranges. The game has changed so much throughout the decades. so in my opinion the best ever is Sammy Baugh,Bobby Lane,Johnny Unitas,Terry Bradshaw, and John Elway.Really man I don't understand why in the last 5 or 6 years this "best ever" argument seems to have come up more in every sport than in any time in history. I've heard that the 2000 Yankees lineup, the '99 Ravens defense, Scotty Bowman is the greatest coach, it just seems to go on and on. Its just like everything else in this society, its what have you done for me lately?

As a Seattle resident it breaks my heart to have to name John Elway as the man.  Damn, he was good and he left at the top of his game.  Denver was a smart team to keep him.

I know, I Know....Yes I'm a huge Denver Bronco Fan so of course, I will say Elway.  Well, I will.  Just try this......take Montana and Elway and have them switch teams....the Forty-Niners Still win all those Super Bowls and Montana retires early from injuries from all the abuse by not being able to carry Denver to an 8 and 8 season much less one single Super Bowl appearence
