Subject: Too Bad I Missed The VMAs!

As the fallout from Thursday night's VMAs continues, one of the biggest emerging stories is the embarrassing incident that Michael Jackson suffered onstage.
Jackson, whose birthday was the same day, was to be given a cake and a small award to celebrate the occasion.
As singer Britney Spears was introducing Jackson, she referred to the enigmatic star as "...in my opinion, is the artist of the millenium."
She then presented Jackson with a treble-shaped trophy as a birthday present. Jackson apparently mistook it for the Artist of the Millenium Award.
"When I was a little boy growing up in Indiana," Jackson said softly, "I never dreamed of getting the Artist of the Millennium award."
Jackson then went on to thank his family, God, and even magician David Blaine.
Apparently no one had the heart to correct the pop legend until after the show.
"There is no such honor," MTV soon announced. "It was an unfortunate misunderstanding."
Jackson has not yet responded to the incident.

Any time he makes a fool of himself is a great time to me. I'm just plain sick of him though :P

I didn't even catch it when I was watching the VMA. I guess it was an easy mistake.

At the time, I wondered why Jimmy Fallon said, " I just picked up my Artist Of The Millenium Award. They're giving them away free backstage."
I thought he was just trivializing Wacko's segment.
I'll never see Mike the same after hearing someone ask, "What, is he from Whoville?" :D

As much as I don't like Michael Jackson, I do feel kinda bad for him. He has got to be really embarassed. It was funny to watch, though.

MTV2 (I think) reran the awards over the weekend... I saw about 5 minutes (okay, so I wanted to finally see what all the fuss over Shakira was about ;D ). I wonder if they left Jacko's faux pas in or edited it out?

MTV reran it over the weekend...I caught bits & pieces...they did leave Jacko's faux pas in the show...I didn't really catch it at first...he did sound like he may have finally hit puberty though...
