Subject: Justice!
The ringleader of a group responsible for a series of gang rapes in Sydney two years ago was sentenced today to 55 years in jail. This unconscionable monster was responsible for the ruin of seven girls and women who were only 16 to 18 years old when this happened. He will be eligible for parole in 2040, by which time he will be 58 years old, but he's unlikely to get out before he's 75.

I'm glad they found this guy guilty. I think it's odd that he is eligible for parole in 2040, but they wont give it to him, In the US he would be back on the streets well before then, even with a 55 year sentence.

justice is a rare thing to come by... the term is thrown around a lot..

This guy will never get out. If you ask me he's safer in jail. He'll have company too when they put away the other 12 or 15 guys who were also part of the same crime.

And here, ladies and gentlemen, is one of the fundamental flaws in the AMERICAN justice system. Over here, he'd be looking at parole in six to ten if that was his sentence because the prison system is just soooooo crowded.
Of course, he'd be far from "safe" here either... prison justice takes care of rapists and child molesters just fine.

Well he's been bashed several times in prison already. His parents are appealing the sentence, but it probably won't do any good.
