Subject: Football Season Is Almost Here!
Well all you guys...and maybe even some of the ladies.....personally I can't wait for the NFL and College football seasons to begin. I've noticed Sagnastian is already in the spirit (See his sig) as am I. Here's to hoping everybodys teams fair well. I hope the Broncos' Brian Greise and Terrell can return to top form, along with Eddie McCafferey. In college ball I will be rooting for the Colorado Buffaloes. I just hope the mess from last year doesn't happen again. I really wanted to see Oregon and Miami play for the championship....I also hope "Little Red" nebraska has a losing season.... ;) BTW Sagnastian, I have always liked the Lions since waaay back in the Greg Landry/Steve Owens days so here's hoping that Joey Harrington can bring your team closer to the ultimate prize. I'd love to see Barry Sanders come back now as well........

There will finally be something to watch on Monday nights and Sunday will be less boring, and this year I don't have the Navy there forcing me to stand watch during the important games ( I had watch during both superbowls when Denver won :().
Subject: Re: Football Season Is Almost Here!
Actually to tell you the truth am looking more forward to watching college football on saturday evenings more than the Lions play. The Wolverines are and always have been a great football team. As for the Lions, yeah well.................. I don't know about Harrington, afterall he's only a rookie, but I'll give him a chancee. That's what the Lions need, a good QB. Not really looking forward this year in pro because we lost a lot of star players, maybe they're going for a completely new team?.?.? Anyways, we lost Boyd, Morton, Moore, Westbrook, and others. What a shame.
I like to see Brian Griese win the superbowl. After-all he is a former Wolverine :D I was happy for Tom Brady when the Pats won it, that was like the only reason I was rooting for them, not to mention they were the underdogs.
Well good luck to all. Come on Lions win more than 2 games!!!!!!!

J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets! ;D
I can't wait for the season to start to see how bad Vinny and the Jets will be. I hope they will surprise me like the NJ Nets did this year but our quarterbacks suck. They should just bring back Ken O'brien - he's about the same age as Vinny. I've been a fan since I was 9 so I have 23 years of the Jets curse and I want the curse broken. Damn Elway and the 1998 Broncos ;). We could have been contenders for the championship that year instead of bums.
As far as college, I don't have a favorite. Anybody but Notre Dame can win. :)

cricket, remember the game Arkansas vs. Michigan? that was a great game wasn't it? ;D :D ;) :) 8)
Subject: Re: Football Season Is Almost Here!
Well my favorite teams the Giants and Jets look very suspect this year. Testaverde and this West Coast Offense don't go together too well. I hope offensive cordinator Paul Hackett gets more serious with the play calling. The Giants need Kerry Collins to play to his play to his full potential. As for College Football Penn State can put alot of points on the board but the question is can the defense stop anybody? In other Football news I think the Eagles will have a big year. The 49ers can't seem to get past the Rams. I think the Colts will sneak up on people. Head Coach Tony Dungy has nowhere to go but up trying to teach that defense how to play good football.

Sag....you will have to refresh my memory about this game.......but the way you are happy about it....must have been one we lost!!! ;)
Subject: Re: Football Season Is Almost Here!
I really cannot tell you much about it. All I can at this point was that it was a bowl game sometime back in '98 or '99. Somewhere around there. All I remember was that Arkansas had supposely a good running team back then. I think.
Subject: Re: Football Season Is Almost Here!
ok.....I'll have to do some diggin around and see if I can find some info on it...I will let you know if I do!! :)

I can't wait for football season myself.

As for the Mountaineers, I hope Rich Rodriguez has a better team for his second season as coach. Maybe Rasheed Marshall will be the quarterback that will turn the program around.
http://images.usatoday.com/sports/college/logos/schools/marshall.gif
And for the Herd, they're trying to make Heisman material out of quarterback Byron Leftwich. The Herd is ranked #21 in the preseason USA Today poll and should win the MAC easily. Their defense is suspect, though.
Subject: Re: Football Season Is Almost Here!
So, what did you think of the retro-Redskins uniforms last week? I think they're cool! I also thought the new Texans didn't play too badly...I know it's only pre-season though. Oh and btw, my nephew, who is from nebraska, but was recently married, likes the Broncos and lives in Denver, commented that the Buffs are ranked ahead of Little Red in the preseason polls (#6 & #8 respectively)...I told him that means that nu will probably end up higher than my Buffs by seasons end as I see think this may be a jinx :-/
Subject: Re: Football Season Is Almost Here!
Gee the Lions lost to the Ravems tonight. What a surprise. And the Tigers beat Baltimore, now that's a surprise. Is it hockey season yet? 2 more weeks 'til college football!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait for opening day. I just spent the last week back home and brought home tons of OSU stuff.
GO BUCKS!!
As for the NFL, it's Blitzburgh! Maybe a couple tackles on punts, and it woulda been a Black & Gold Super Bowl!! I hate that everyone is predicting them as the team to beat, but I have faith in Cowher Powher!!

See, now I've been nice for weeks and not mentioned anything about your sad allegience to the "team up north", but you go and deface the great Seal Of Ohio!! ;)
Yes, gotta love The Game. Stupid BCS has taken some of the shine off of it, the winner may not go to the Rose Bowl. But it's still the biggest game every year at my house.
See you at the 'Shoe on 11/23!!
GO BUCKS!!

Subject: Re: Football Season Is Almost Here!
Now Terrell Davis has to retire :'( IMHO, he should make it to the hall of fame. Gale Sayers is there having never won a title even though he was a terrific back for a mediocre team. Davis has a huge list of credentials including his 2,008 yards in 1998. I'm sad he must retire but am glad he is smart enough to take care of himself. It's no fun to be older and not even be able to walk without difficulty and pain. Unlike the horrible 80's super bowl days, at least now Denver has quite a few good running backs to choose from. I hope during tonights games the fans salute Him for all the great moments he gave all of us Bronco fans in his abbreviated career.
Subject: Re: Football Season Is Almost Here!
Well.....more boredom this past weekend, but at least Denver eaked out a win over Arizona. They'd sure better improve fast if they are to have any chance even making the playoffs :-/
Subject: Re: Football Season Is Almost Here!
Nothing is boring in football. In Australia wher Rugby League is one of the national favourites of football, we have just had the Bulldogs who were dead-certs-for-top-of-the-table-at-end-of-fixtures lose all of their points for Salary Cap discrepancies. At the moment it is a big scandal here. Unfortunately it has taken a lot of gloss of one of our national favourite pastimes.
They have been relegated now to dead-cert-wooden-spooners even though they have won more games then anybody else.

WHOO HOO! The great Wolverines got revenge on Washington. Now time to payback those rotten spartans and those that little team just south of us.
As for the Lions, welllllllllllllllllllll ??? >:(
