Well, since you asked ;D I cannot stand Michael Jackson ever since he basically stole the Beatles music and let advertisers use it to make him money...knowing Full-well that ALL of the Beatles never wanted ANY of thier songs to be used that way....on the other side, I hate the corporate jerks that make up the industry today so my answer would be...I hope somehow they Both lose ;)

Apparently, this is an attempt to endear himself back to the African-American fanbase after he betrayed them by changing his skin color. No better (or worse) person to do that than the Reverend Al Sharpton. If anyone can expose Tommy Mottola as the "racist" he is, it's race-baiting champion Reverend Al. ::)
I think the truth will finally come out, and no one will like the final outcome. Sony will get our money and so will the ex-King of Pop. :(

:D :D :D
Yah, I'm not a big Michael Jackson fan, and I despise Sony music because of thier failed attempt at copy protected CD's. I Despise Al Sharpton more than either of the two. So if thier was a way all three of them could loose, then that would make me happy.

Only one problem with that Screwball. How do you get Reverend Sharpton to accept defeat? It's like getting juice out of a rotten turnip.

Here's another part of the story. First time I've ever seen Sharpton say someone wasn't racist.

Sounds a little Fishy to me, Maybe sharpton is hunting for contributions, or maybe he realized that a media giant like Sony Music is a tad more powerfull than a pop star past his prime..
Subject: Re: Michael Jackson vs. Sony Music
I don't think anyone could take on Sony single-handedly. Maybe if the entire industry went up against them, but this will hardly make them shiver in their boots. A burned-out superstar and Al Sharpton against one of the biggest corporations in the world? It's a stunt, is what it is.

And having read the article, it smacks of hypocrisy!

It does because i was watching a news program tonight at 10 EST and Al sharpton was on it complaining about the racism in the Industry, If the Industry is so Racist why is Rap so popular?
Subject: Re: Michael Jackson vs. Sony Music
I hate to say it but as a white person white pop/R&b artists are easier to market than a black artist. If a good black artsist makes it big everybody cries. Look at Britney Spears should she be selling more records than Lauryn Hill? Heck no. When a black artist blew up big inthe 80's nobody had a problem with it now everybody's got a problem with it. The only way a black artist makes it big and nobody cries about is when a "bling bling" rapper gets big. Look at Ja Rule compared to some of the good rap acts out there. On the other side of it what Michael Jackson is complaing about black artist going bankrupt i don't know about that. I remember reading an article in "Vibe Magazine" a couple months when former En Vogue member Dawn Robinson complained she had no money to live on and was driving Ford Fiestiva with an oil leak. Either she didn't read the contract or she just got a weak end of the money deal when it came down to the contract that En Vogue signed with the record label. Its all in the contract. I don't see a mega star like Usher going bankrupt. Mc Hammer and TLC went bankraupt because basically it was their own fault. I don't know how Toni Braxton went bankrupt back in 1998. Lionel Richie and Babyface never went bankrupt. I guess its all in the contract that the artist signs. As far as Tommy Mottola being a racist he was married to Mariah Carey once and Mariah Carey is half-black I think. Tommy Mottola is now married to a spanish woman now so I don't see how Tommy Mottola discriminates against anybody. Calling Tommy Mottola a racist was very harsh on Michael Jacksons part. If Michael wants to revive his career its kind of late for that. BTW, I not trying to be racist against my own kind with the comments I made up top but I have to be honest.

So this actually says that Sharpton not only said the subject someone - Mottola - isn't racist, but that his "partner" as implied in this thread - Jackson - is wrong!
OK, I guess that's end of discussion! Maybe there is some hope for Sharpton? OTOH, maybe Jackson is getting more pathetic?
(BTW I won't deny I was a Gloved-One fan....I still love the music from the early '80s . However, I can't much take seriously anything coming from a fruitcake child-molester.)

this is one of the shadiest things i've seen in awhile...it reeks of contradictions and i think it's just a publicity stunt on michael jackson's part to get people to feel sorry for him and buy more products. that's my two cents for the moment.

"El Wack-O Jack-O" is a pathetic creature. ::) :P
Why couldn't he have gone to a psychologist, psychotherapist or counselor like normal people.
He surely could afford it!!!
The world would have probably been spared all of his weirdness, of which the limits seem to have no end.
Michael Jackson produced some very good music once upon a time. I actually had respect for his talent and abilities. And he still looked human during his "Thriller" years.
Had he sought emotional/mental help at some point (goodness knows he's always needed it), he would have been a better person for it and I would have possibly held a shred of pitty for him as a broken person. But he choses instead to escalate his "freakish-ness" to new heights. He's just an annoyance, IMHO.
