Subject: Should we invade Iraq still.
While the war is still on, should we still go after Sudam Hussein, and still focus on what is going on in the world right now?

Humm I vote for helping to settle Israel/Palestine conflict and keep an eye out for the Pakistan/India problem brewing overthere. Be on the lookout for Iran as well I was watching on CNN that is becoming another hotbed for terrorism again

Do you think we could colonise the Moon?

My opinion on this matter is to remain focused on capturing Osama bin Laden and subjecting his men to a fair trial or death if needed. I agree that Sadaam Husien is still a major threat to our homeland security, but it was Osama and the el-Queda terrorists that murdered hundreds of people on American soil. If we could kill 2 birds with 1 stone, that would be great. But we should only go after Sadaam if there is ample prove of "weapons of mass destruction", or that Iraqi terrorists are planning a massacre similar to 9/11. :-/

I believe we need still get Sadam out of power. Even If 9/11 hadn't of happened we would still need to get Sadam. The only question is when? I think we should Wait and see how the Isreal/Palestien conflict pans out before we go into Iraq.

According to Clinton, there is still proof, that there is weapon mass destruction, but you are right we shouldn't fight a country without cause, I mean they are not messing with us right now, so we shouldn't mess with them.

:P I wouldn't be surprised if they're really planning it.

...or Mars - I hear they've just found humungous amounts of water there, which makes it much more feasable. It actually makes it possible - now, who do you think we should send out there? Maybe we should start a new thread on who we'd recommend as Mars colonists...

We still have a looong way to go if we're thinking of intergalactic travel. Ha. We still depend on fossil fuels mostly and the nuke stuff is too dangerous to mess with (though I think that could make the travel a leeetle faster). I'd place my bet on the moon since it won't take some 40 odd years to reach it. Plus, from human exploration, nothing alive has been found there - not even water. Now Mars, on the other hand - god knows what kind weird, unexpected junk we might find (I'm thinking of Alien and Aliens. Hey, it could happen...). Space probes and robots are definitely the first long-distance, space travelers for that task (robotics, man, it's all about those physicists and engineers).

I read an interview with sci-fi author Peter F. Hamilton in which he expresses his disappointment with the way the respective governments have neglected the space program. Had space exploration been allowed to continue without the constant cut-backs, man could have landed on Mars by the close of the 1980s. Why is it that now we can make a computer that can fit in the size of one's hand, yet we can't land a man on the Moon (the technology is no longer available), but when we could land a man on the Moon, we couldn't make a computer small enough to fit in one room. Mankind spends too much time researching foolish things, like how to kill each other better. We've known about AIDS since the late 1970s and still can't find a cure.

The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one they said,oh the chances of anything coming from Mars, are a million to one, but still they come etc.
Sorry but the song just popped into my head!

By the way things are going in the space program, though, it'll be the next race of animals that has evolutioned to reach Mars :P

The next race of animals to evolve will have to go a lot further than Mars. By the time they develop enough to discover space travel, they'll need to find another solar system to live in.
