Internet Explorer 6? If so, what are the improvements over version 5, if any?
Subject: Re: Is Anyone Using
I am, but not by choice. I was using IE4, but one day it would not let me do anything till I upgraded.
I meant to get IE5, but because my mouse was acting funny (Darn cat hairs!) I clicked on 6 instead. I don't see any difference myself. Except that my modem seems to unexpectedly hang up on me more often.
But keep in mind, I'm no expert.
Subject: Re: Is Anyone Using
I am far from an expert as well, but I see absolutely no difference.......
Subject: Re: Is Anyone Using
There really isn't much of a difference between IE 5.0 and 6.0 to me. They did add a few new features such as a media button and the ability to view pictures using IE---both of which I have no use for. IE 6.0 is a more secure browser from the earlier versions, if that is what you are looking for. It also gives you the ability to control your cookies better. All in all, it is basically the same. (IMO)

There are a few differences, such as print preview (actually that was in IE 5.5 as well) and sometimes colored scroll bars (also in IE 5.5 as well) but since I upgraded from 5.0 to 6.0 without getting 5.5, these are the only differences I know.

Web Privacy
Internet Explorer 6 includes many new and enhanced features to simplify tasks you perform each day on the Web, while also helping you to maintain the privacy of your personal information.
Flexibility
With the new innovative browser capabilities including Media Bar, Image toolbar, Auto Image resizing and more, you can experience the Web the way you want.
Reliability
Internet Explorer 6 offers a more stable and error-free browsing experience than ever before. New fault collection services help identify potential problems that need to be fixed in future updates to Windows Internet technologies.

Thanks for the responses folks. I think I'll just keep using 5...

The one difference I noticed about using version 6 over version 5 was that 6 crashed everyday on me, even when my harddrive didn't melt. I switched back...

I found the same thing as Kryllith (I am using ME). So I switched back.
One good feature was that if you viewed a picture that exceeded the size of your screen, IE 6 would automatically re-size it for you.

Oh sure, but not like I used to. Now it's just a little bump in the morning to get me going and then, you know if it's a mellow evening, maybe some vicodin and beer, or if we're going out I'll cut a few lines, fire up the pipe...
What? You mean a thread with that title meant something different? Boy is my face red.

i thought that was cool at first but now...ehhh. :-/
i'm still mad that you can't use the "w-resize" command for your cursor in rollover links. oh sure, it got on a lot of people's nerves and techically, you can still use the commands, but man, they changed the arrows and they look stupid now. ne-resize was the most fun too... :( ;)
