I'm so sorry!  Talk about having a bad day!! (or couple of days, I would hope.. ::) )
It can be tough when people start going their separate ways. Though I havent lost a long time love,  I've had that happen with some of my old friends.  It's a shame..I remember we used to say that we were all like that line in Bon Jovi's song "Blood on Blood":
"Through the years and miles between us
It's been a long and lonely ride
But if I got that call in the dead of the night
I'd be right by your side"
I mean, true as it might be, things start to change an awful lot when your friends marry people you don't care for (like racist idiots and wife-beaters), they get involved with stuff you can't understand (like drugs, affairs and having babies with someone other than their spouse) , and the worst yet stealing from you and your family at the worst possible time... ::)  In any case, I know this isn't really relelvant to you personally, but just wanted to say I really feel for ya and I understand how strange it is when things you thought would "last forever" just, well, don't.   :(

Check out classmates.com.  You can find out who's listed on it for free, but it requires a membership (about $20.00 for a year) to use the direct contact (through email) they provide.  One of my best friends who moved out of the country and pretty much disappeared for 11 years got in contacts with me earlier this year.  Now we talk and play online games together nearly nightly.  In addition to that, I just found out that one of my best friends in elementary school (who I haven't seen in 20 years) just recently moved to within 2 hours from me... (btw, this didn't cost me anything... I just used the site as a starting point for tracking them down)

actually My girlfriend moved into a residence in October of last year and she thought that the relationship wasn't getting anywhere,so she quit seeing me.Oh well,more fish in the seas.gotta move on now.
