Subject: I can't believe this
My son just found an unopened Christmas present under the sofa. I hid stuff all over the place before Christmas, but I thought I got it all out. ::)
My daughter will be surprised when she gets home. My son was disappointed it wasn't for him :'(
It's from my MIL; I wonder what it is... ???
Subject: Re: I can't believe this
You realise, of course, that you can never use that hiding place again.

Man!! That is a great idea!! I usually overstuff my closet shelf and cover everything with blankets. ::) Yeah, yeah, I'm original. lol Let us know what it is!

It was a stationary/stamping/marker set. I told her she'd have to write grandma a note.
I wonder if there's anymore presents hiding in the house.? Well, at least we found it before summer - that would have been embarrassing! :-[

Grin, maybe people should combine Christmas traditions with Easter traditions. Hide presents all over the house and then make the kids look for them on Christmas day. Course you might have to find a new place to store them come Christmas day...
We actually have a tradition at my fathers house. He, my brother, and I are longtime fans for Games magazine, so we develop cryptographic hints as to the present inside. Before opening the present the have to try to solve the puzzle. :)

My mom used to use shorthand. I even went so far as to check out a shorthand manual from the library to decipher it. It never worked :(

You must be related to my mum cs. She was always finding Christmas presents way after Christmas.
The best I remember was helping her clear out her wardrobes and cupboards one summer holiday. She found a present for me (a record if memory serves) and a present for my dad and one of my brothers.

:o :o :o :oShorthand is really hard--if you know it,you can really keep stuff from people. The Cyrillic alphabet is pretty easy, once you get over the fact that the vowels don't look like vowels, and so forth.Cheeres! :D :D

Question: if they don't look like vowels, what do they look like? ???

Or Christmas & Halloween, go trick or treating for presents :D
...but then the people would just give socks cuz noone knows what other people want. Oh well, nice idea anyway right?

They look like backwards letters. For example: the Roman letter "i" looks like an mirror-image of an "N." The "Z" looks like a "3." They also use greek letter like gamma and phi and delta. It's a weird alphabet, but not very difficult to learn. It's the pronounciation of words that's a b!tch.
I'd rather go with Scandinavian Runes if I was trying to conceal something.
