George Carlin is a very funny comedian, and very vulgar. His best-known skit is the seven words you can't say on TV (or post on this message board). When I had HBO (premium cable channel), I always watched for his comedy specials. The last one I remember, he came in on the back of a delivery truck--and the truck had West Virginia license (or for you, Bobo, licence) plates on it.
Subject: Re: 2002:just another year!
lol, I'm used to Americanisms by now... sorry about the George Carlin thing, I'll see if I can find out more about him in the future.
Subject: Re: 2002:just another year!
Ok I'm looking forward to:
Good Health
Another day closer to being out of debt ;)
And, most of all, the middle of March when the Olympics will just be history. I am not looking forward to them. :P
Subject: Re: 2002:just another year!
I hope you feel better about things to come, JO. :) It's not always easy to focus on the positive, but I hope you give it a try. :)
Subject: Re: 2002:just another year!
Especially at times like this. Positive outcomes seem so far away, at the beginning of a fresh start. I send a prayer out to all that are suffering at this time of year, with these circumstances. May God bless you all.
Subject: Re: 2002:just another year!
Dagwood, don't forget, its 2002, which means that its the Winter Olympics this year. If you want to watch it, that is.
Subject: Re: 2002:just another year!
I look forward to New York getting bigger and stronger and showing the cowardly terrorists that they will never win. As everyone else, I look forward to happiness and being with friends and family. I also look forward to falling into adolescent love - its bound to happen sooner or later (hopefully) ;)
There are plenty of things about 2002 that I will most probably dread, but I won't bring them up right now, I'll focus on the happy stuff
Subject: Re: 2002:just another year!
2002 means another year I am blessed to be alive and experience life, good and bad! ;)

I live in Salt Lake City, so I couldn't forget the Olympics if I wanted to. I am not looking forward to the influx of people from everywhere. I hate traffic now, I don't want to see what it will be like. At least I don't live or work near any of the venues. That should help. Hopefully.

Good list, Sharona. Keep the focus on the good and most of the bad won't seem as bad.

Subject: Re: 2002:just another year!
2002 isn't just any old year. I'm 16 this year, which means that there's no more school for me. Also, its palindromic, which has got to be a good thing in any situation. And who can forget the Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City? Those will be the best ever, having come after Nagano, which was equally as good - the only other one I remember watching avidly. Its a good thing we did well in Great Britain in the 2000 Olympics, this gives me extra hope for this years winters. Not to mention the soccer World Cup.
And what about music? For the last 3 years now, new records have been set in this country for Most Number One Hits In A Single Year. Not to mention the greatest single of all time, is going to be released this year. Don't ask me what its going to be, I don't know yet, but it's going to be.
As for celeb news, I can see a lot of celebs breaking up... its that sort of a year already.... with the scary nihilism

yes, Bobo.January 5th,1997.I took her out to a nice restaurant the on first date.Ok,Ben's Deli. Then after that other fine restaurants later on.she was bitching and moaning about he ring.and we both couldn't afford it at the time cause we both had jobs in sheltered workshops that paid crap money. And how the hell can I pay for a freakin' ring when I get paid by SSI and work in a workshop that pays $35.00 for 40 hours?? That sucks. >:(

Regular kiss on a first date is ok, French Kiss would be at least a second date (unless he didn't brush his teeth, then probably no kiss at all....ew slimy teeth...eeeewww). :-*
Subject: Re: 2002:just another year!
35 dollars for 40 hours? That would be illegal in this country... And, I don't understand the "pregnant dog" thing, can you explain what with it?

pregnant dog is another word for a female dog.the curse words are changed around for yours and this web site's protection.instead of saying this word, they change to something that's more nicer to say.

I know, I know...a day late, a dollar short, or whatever. Hopefully 2002 will be a year of rebuilding. Lord knows 2001 was rough. Everyone is still just a little on edge. It's comforting to see people different countries chatting on this site. That is a step in the right direction. Also, kudos to My Sharona for keepin' the faith. NY will get stronger and better just like the rest of the U.S. I am just proud to be alive and well and where I want to be in life.
