Are any of you fans of zombie movies? (think...Night of the Living Dead, 28 Days Later, Dawn of the Dead, etc). Here in Pittsburgh (which has been deemed as "Zombie capital of the world") we have an annual "Zombie Walk" (where tons of people come dressed up as the undead and participate in a walk, and at the same time...donate canned goods for food banks). It took place at Monroeville Mall.... the same place where George Romero filmed the original Dawn of the Dead horror movie in 1977.
here's a picture for your viewing pleasure:

That's incredibly cool, Quirk. :)
I'll have to tell my sister about that. She has a TON of zombie movies and is so into that stuff.
I do like some of the movies ("Shaun of the Dead", HA!), but I'm not super big on them.

I like Zombie movies. The ones from the 50's and 60's were great.

I had no idea the Pittsburg is the Zombie Capitol!! ;D
I love Zombie movies. My favorites are "Night of the Living Dead"... They're coming to get you, Barbara! and "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things".

not many know that i am a zombie fan; i belong to a thread for people that write about zombies (i hope to someday) and I just got...for my birthday, the great Zombie Survival Guidebook.
i have to say i'm not big on remakes, but that new dawn of the dead was great. I didn't like the monsters in 28 days later because they moved too quickly and you could not see them nor their attacks clearly.
great idea with the zombies!!!

Good grief Ian would be on the next plane out! He is mad about zombie films, indeed he is in London today visiting the pub from the film Shaun of the dead!

Great picture! I"m so jealous. wow. too bad that's closed; i would think there might be biz for it after the film..it's a lovely building.
good to know some zombie fans are out there..
although the Zombie Survival Guide is a 'comedy" book, some of it is unnerving. There is a list of cases in history in the back of the book and they are so realistically explained..very creepy. I recommend you look up The Morningstar Saga online...it's a great xombie story and the people that wrote it host the zombie board...

now I can't remember my username there!

Original Dawn of the Dead and remake of Night Of the Living Dead are my favorites. these people are totally wacky :D what a riot, and they help replenish the food bank, that's admirable. there is a slew of zombie jokes, particularly zombie baby jokes
What's bald, has big clacking teeth, and wobbles?

I wouldn't tell a woman I loved zombies. Not on the first date anyway.
Maybe I would, but with a back up plan.
If she recoiled in horror, I'd call the bartender over.
"You should try one, babe, they're great!"

"Shaun of the Dead" cracked me up. Imagine zombies taking over the British suburbs (or did that already happen?)
