I used to love that.
I saw it fairly recently (i.e in the past couple of years or so). I thought it had disappeared completely.
It was in a supermarket but I can't recall if it was in the UK or the US :-\\

I've bought some, it tasted the same but it has a different name AND the texture is different. Must be new ingredients, I've noticed many gums like Bazooka, Big Red and Double Mint have a different texture.

LOL, funny that you can't find them and here in no where midwest, we have them all the time at Farm and Fleet; and orschlen's in their bulk candy aisles. I also buy Frooties, same thing (still made by Tootsie company) but more fruit flavors watermelon, blue raspberry, grape, lemonade, strawberry, and fruit punch are our favorites! Theisens (another farm store) and Fareway have them all the time.

There is a store that we like to go to in North Carolina called The Mast General Store, you go in and they have rows of wooden barrels and you walk along with a basket and you can fill it up with candy. They do have many of these "old-time" candies. They have the cigar gum, candy cigarettes (but they're called candy sticks), chick-o-sticks, ice cube chocolates, Chunky chocolate, the flavored Tootsie Rolls, Satellite Wafer Candy (but the candies inside taste different) and so much more. The problem is, if you send two kids and two adults in the store with baskets you will spend $100 on candy because it's by the pound.

Our General Store used to sell penny candies, so even if you had but a nickel in your pocket, you could still get something!

PUD (the poor man's Bazooka Joe)
If the 3D effects for the flying kids looks cheesy, it's because no computer back then was fast enough to do it in CGI, so they "rendered" it all by hand, drawing each frame in pen and ink. No computers inolved. Just animators. The logo zoom was done by zooming a camera out above a static picture of the logo, and filling in the individual frames of film by hand.

- Bubblicious: The ultimate bubble has the ultimate flavors. (Wild Strawberry, Bold Banana, Juicy Orange, and now Way-Out Watermelon!)
Now, can anyone find S'prize, from Topps, with the line "What is S'prize all about? Lots of Bazooka juice to squirt you in the mouth! S'prise, S'prize, S'prize is new! The first Bazooka bubble gum that squirts you when you chew!"

Not a candy but they sure tasted like it...
Pine Brothers Cough Drops. They were "softish". I'd put two in my mouth and squish them together. I don't think they really helped my coughs. ;D

They're still available, I found some at Kroger grocery store a few years ago but they're not as good as they used to be or as good as I remember.
