Hi Everyone!

Every week I go to a local chain restaurant (that I will leave nameless) and order a meal. My favorite part of the meal is the side of cooked white button mushrooms that are cooked with onions.

It looks something like this:

And I would love to make them at home, but I have no idea how to cook them. I ev en tried asking at the restaurant and they claimed the recipie was secret.  >:(

So if any one has any advice, please tell me because I'd like to make mushrooms at home.

I'm no expert but I guess they just sautee them in pan with some butter and herbs....  or maybe stir fried in a wok

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

    * 1 tablespoon olive oil
    * 1 1/2 pounds fresh mushrooms
    * 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
    * 1/4 cup dry white wine
    * 2 cloves garlic, minced
    * salt and pepper to taste
    * 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place mushrooms in the skillet, season with Italian seasoning, and cook 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
  2. Mix the wine and garlic into the skillet, and continue cooking until most of the wine has evaporated. Season with salt and pepper, and sprinkle with chives. Continue cooking 1 minute.

I like that allrecipes.com site... I don't cook but it seems like you can punch in the number of servings you want out of a dish and it'll recalculate the ingredients for you!  :)

That's a good tool to have.  I've done dishes before and forgot to halve the salt  8-P and I once wrote out a Scout camp recipe for someone so their mum could make it.  Except I gave them the 32 portion recipe!
