Hi Everyone!

I know that at some time or another, everybody  here has eaten a pickle, whether with a burger or a nice hero sandwhich and I was wondering, what kind of pickle is your favorite? Do you like sour pickles or sweet pickles, spears or whole pickles and what brands.

And to be fair, I'll answer first. I LOVE Claussen's dill pickle halves. Yum-o. I also love Vlasic dill spears and ZESTY dill spears.

I love ALL pickles but my favorite is probably a New York Deli style half sour kosher pickle.

Hey LAdybug. That soulds interesting. I've enver heard of that. How do you make a pickle "half sour"  :) I'd like to try that. LOL.

I like sweet pickles.

I can never finish one of those big dills I start to get ill.

I hate pickles on my sandwiches and burgers but I will have a pickle on my McDonald's hamburger I just have to eat it before I eat the burger.

I will put pickle relish in my tuna but not on a hot dog...


what can I say I have always been a VERY picky eater.  (not that you can tell from my photos  ;) )

Looks like you and I disagree on something else! LOL. I HATE sweet pickles! I like sour and spicy pickles. And the big pickles are my favorite ones! I used to sneak one in school everyday LOL. But I do like sweet relish on hot dogs and in potato salad. Yum-tastic. And I love pickles on hamburgers with onions and mayo and lettuce.  ;)

And Jessica, I'm sorry, I can't stand bread and butter pickles. I threw a jar of them out just today.  :( Lord it was too much. They were zesty ones so they were HOT and SWEET. Lord.

The only kinds of pickles I like to eat are the dill slices (the ones that are made to put on sandwiches). I really hate sweet pickles. 8-P

I love kosher dill pickles, and I prefer the baby dills, usually Vlasic but the brand I have now is pretty good. It's Mt. Olive

I like diced kosher dill pickles in my canned tuna with Best Foods mayo, salt & pepper

I love the same pickles in my hotdogs with mustard and I like the sliced pickle chips on my burgers.

I love them all,Dill,Sweet,Bread & Butter it makes no difference. I usually buy the Vlasic brand. When I was younger my mom & grandma would make their own bread & butter and dill pickles,yum yum.

I suppose it has something to do with the spices you use and how long they actually have to stay in the brine.

Has anyone tried the Tabasco flavoried pickles by Vlasic. I've been wanting ot try them, but everytime I chicken out. I don't want them to be TOO spicy.

I love those pickles for store bought pickles....  I also love hamburger dills..... AND MY FAVORITE is the type you will get in a kosher deli, the refrigerator dills - very crunchy and very fresh (every now and again you get a pickled green tomato with them too - yummy)

HATE Sweet pickles, and bread and butter  8-P  Do not like pickle relish, only can stand it in chicken, tuna, or beef salad (and only in small quantities)!!!!

Cat, everyone is hating on our bread and butter pickles. ;D

I usually buy mine from the Artichoke Festival.  There's this guy that goes by the name of The Pickle Man, and he makes THE BEST bread and butter pickles that I have ever tasted.  I swear, they are so good, I just take a fork and eat them out of the jar.

Holy crap, they'll fry anything!  That sounds just a little too weird for me...

You know, there's been lots of food I hated and thought was gross when I was a kid that I eventually warmed up to (like coffee, which I've loved since 16ish, especially Starbucks and from 7-11), and even pizza crust (I always tossed that and the crust on bread out when I was little lol), pickles are something I STILL just can't get into for some reason. ;D They're too sour or something.

OH YEAH!!!!  Those are just the bomb, we have a place here that batters their own - yummy; makes my mouth water just thinking about them :)



Does anyone like pickled asparagus (great in a bloody mary)?

I have tried the the deep fried pickles. I'd rather deep fry and eat my gym sneakers.  8-P It was AWFUL! I hated it and then they tried to put ranch dressing with it to dummy down the flavor. It was a taste abomination. Never again. Not even if you told me I could meet Mchael Jackson and sing back up on his next tour. No WAY!  8-P

I like pickles. And I like fried foods. But NEVER together.

Has anyone eaten at the Carnegie Deli. the original is in New York. I've eaten at the one in Las Vegas  in The Mirage Hotel/Casino. If you're a pickle fan,  it's cool because they bring you 1 or 2 big bowls of delicious pickles to gnaw on while your waiting for your meal  8)

Never ate at the Carnegie... But the Potomac Village Deli has the best "kosher" pickle assortments, that they bring you in bowls and they are not just pickled cucumbers but they also have pickled tomatoes and okra ( 8-P) in the bunch as well - Everything except the okra is yummy ;D

Me too, I love those flat slices on almost any kind of sandwich, and a burger is not a burger without a pickle. My youngest son used to eat all the pickles in the house when he still lived home.
Now he buys his own pickles.

I've seen the Carnegie Deli on tv. One of my fave foodies, Andrew Zimmern, went there and had I think it was a pastrami sandwhich. It was SO BIG. It was like a skyscraper between two pieces of wheat. Gosh. I'd fall over dead eating in there! LOL!.

It's insane how humongous they are, I could barely eat half. you can find pics on the internet of those big sandwiches,  pastrami, corned beef or a combo of both. and of course kosher dill and garlic pickles on the side

I love almost all pickles, but have to agree with Karen, I love Branston Pickle!

I don't eat gherkin's/pickles on their own but I do like it as a sandwich spread...preferably with ham or similar..

I love only dill pickles as well.  What color would that horse be?  Purple?

In Canada, we love our Bick's Pickles. I have tried other brands but Bick's are the best imo.

I love dill pickles.  There's a deli nearby that has the best.  Unfortunately they won't tell me what brand they are. :(

I love pickle dawg's or pickle wraps (you know pickles wrapped in pastrami, ham, or dried beef with cream cheese)  Yummy ;D
