Subject: 80's cereal
Written By: snozberries on 08/06/07 at 11:14 am
there was cereal I remember eating in the 80's. It was slightly more healthy than your garden variety sugar cereal but I still enjoyed it.
The cereal itself was kind of a rectangular loop. It was a rectangle with two or three oval/squares connected to form a rectangular (Similar to a long lego). I want to say that the ceral was oat or rice or maybe it was both (not like Cripix which is two sided chex cereal) I think they put in two kind of rectangles one of each. and one was two squares connected and the other might be three long.
I know I am confusing myself but ya'll are good so hopefully someone gets what I'm trying to describe....
Thx.

Are you possibly thinking of Cracklin' Oat Bran? (This is the current box BTW).

Hmmm.... not sure if thats it. I the only thing I vividly remember is the shape of the cereal and it was longer and skinnier a rectangle with a line in the middle giving it two holes (or three) but still rectangle in shape.

Dude - I know EXACTLY the cereal you are talking about. I've been trying to remember find out the name of it for years. It was awesome, by far my favorite. If I ever find out, I'll post it everywhere.

The cereal looks right though.

I remember eating various Cheerios cereals during the 80's, some of which were introduced before then. However, Apple Cinnamon Cheerios was released in the late 80's (1988, according to Wiki) and I remember eating it frequently during my 3rd grade year (1988-89).

I love Cheerios.
