According to Kraft Foods website (the makers of Miracle Whip)

1967
Miracle Whip salad dressing is introduced in England.

Maybe it didn't do so well there?

Miracle Whip salad dressing is introduced in the U.S. by Kraft.

1934
National Biscuit Company introduces Ritz crackers in the U.S.

1937
Kraft Macaroni and Cheese dinner is introduced in the U.S.

I'm not saying "hard to believe"  as in I'm doubting the information is true, I'm saying "hard to believe" as in wow, that's a long time for a product to be around and I didn't know that and wow, I'm amazed, so I'm sharing that information with others.  Perhaps I should just go back into my corner and be quiet now.  Sorry to have disturbed you.  :(

lol I had to look up what peckish meant, but yes, I am hungry now too, although the combination of the above three items Miracle whip, Ritz Crackers, and Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, well those three together might not be especially...appetizing together?  But who am I to say, I can't cook anyways.  ;D

I love cooking.  I cook constantly.  I annoy my mother with it because she loves cooking too and I'll try to start Sunday dinner before her.

Found it at last!

We have this brought in by friends, it is a sandwich spread, made from mayonaisse and bits.

Is it similar?

I think so, I'm not sure.  I don't eat Miracle Whip.

This is the ingrediants of Miracle Whip:

Ingredients: WATER, SOYBEAN OIL, VINEGAR, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, SUGAR, MODIFIED FOOD STARCH, EGG YOLKS, SALT, MUSTARD FLOUR, ARTIFICIAL COLOR, POTASSIUM SORBATE AS A PRESERVATIVE, SPICE, PAPRIKA, NATURAL FLAVOR, DRIED GARLIC.

So it's probably very similar.  :)

I can't eat egg whites so I have to have Miracle Whip.  Real mayo has lots of egg whites.  Sandwich spread is a bit different from Miracle Whip in that it is Miracle Whip, or mayonnaise, with a great dollop of pickle relish in it.

Yeah, I misspelled it.  :-[  Won't be the first time and definately won't be the last.

(My apologies to the "Spelling Police")

BTW, thanks for correcting Danoota.  :)

I don't like Mayo on my sandwiches. But I'll take it on my potato, cole slaw, tuna, and macaroni salads. Crazy, I know.

I'm one of those odd people who will eat either.  It depends on what I'm eating it with/in.  For example, if I'm having a sandwich on regular bread, I prefer Miracle Whip, but if it's on a roll or sourdough, I'd rather have mayo ???

I will eat either. I used to eat Hellman's and then when I married Chris...he was used to Miracle Whip....so we just started buying that...like I said...it doesn't really matter to me.
