My preference is Ricotta. Don't care too much for cottage cheese in lasagne (but I do like cottage cheese).

Definitely Ricotta! Why? Because it's Italian, just like Lasagna...so to keep the Italian theme, Ricotta is the best! :D

My mom uses ricotta in the filling and only mozz on top.

So does mine. I prefer Riccotta too.

I guess I am the weirdo - I chose BOTH

I mix the two of them together with a little bit of fresh spinach...
Then top each layer off with extra grated cheese mix - mozzarella, cheddar and colby

I am a weirdo too, Tam.  I went with both.  When I do spinach, though, I layer it on the bottom below each layer of noodles.  Yummy stuff.

Ricotta. I have never heard of cottage cheese used in lasagna, but then I just also heard of someone using cream cheese for their cheeseburger  :o 
I use ricotta in the filling and also mozzarella with the meat sauce filling. I like lots of cheese and I sprinkle a good covering of mozzarella on top with just a small speckeling of cheddar for presentation. I use real cheese, not low or non fat.

There should never be cottage cheese in lasagne unless you are a chef at a diet spa.  Cottage cheese, just like no/lo-fat and other diiet products are for dieting.

I llike cottage cheese, but if you're eating all that pasta, you might as well throw some real cheese on it.

I voted either/or because I prefer ricotta, but have had it ONCE with cottage cheese and it was pretty good.  My friend buys the cheapest cottage cheese, drains it, rinses it and lets it "dry".....then she mixes it with some seasonings and uses it.  I don't make it at home, though, because I'm the ONLY one in my house that eats it :o

Neither/Nor. I hate that stuff. I love lasagna without it, though.

I chose Ricotta, since I've never cared much for Cottage Cheese...

RICOTTA..mozarella, parmesan, romano for the top, ricotta for the filling. Cottage cheese is NOT food, but midwesterners in Ohio love it for some reason.

I actually DO use cottage cheese in my lasagne. But it has to be like the full fat one. To me, it is more flavorful than Ricotta. I also use Mozzarella cheese.

I went with both...makes the consistency better IMO...but thats just me...
