OK, take one sourdough Sub. Take 6 slices of Ham, 6 slices of Chicken, 6 slices of beef, use 4 types of Cheese, Gouda, Edam, American & Emmenthal, melt cheese.
Add Lettuce, Tomato, Cucumber, Jalepenos etc..etc..etc.
Drizzle on Honey Mustard Dressing.
BOOYA!

Vinegar is good on a chip butty.
My favourite sandwich is a toss up between wholemeal bread with chicken, avocado, mayo and toasted flaked almonds or with sundried tomatoes and camembert cheese.
Favourite grilled open sandwich:  Slice of toast spread with vegemite and topped with tomato, asparagus spears and cheddar cheese.  Grill until the cheese is bubbly.

Other:
A very boring but effective cheddar with (and it has to be with) generous dollops of Branston on it...
Using mustard pickle is sacrilege in my book...
Failing that, huge slabs of bread with Marmite spread all over 'em...lovely...!

The cheese and branston thing is a nice idea too, Paul. :)

It beats the bread rolls I had this evening. My girlfriend mixed her sons and my sandwiches just now and I ended up with one full sandwich and half a sandwich with a bite in it. ::)
Lucky I love her. ::) ;D

'PB & J with the Crusts cut off'
What do you do with the crusts?
what if the only two slices of bread left are the ends? ???

Your bread must be very different to ours, even though the end bits have like stuff on the backs of them, there are still crusts.
By the by, it was in reference to a famous movie quote

1. An actual Philly Cheesesteak from my hometown of Philly - accept no pale substitutions, I say.
2. A good roast beef sandwich
3. Tuna Salad
4. BLT
Turkey and cheese would have been my fifth choice, followed by an Italian Hoagie!
BTW, mustard is my sandwich condiment of choice!

Tuna salad, chicken salad, BLT and cheese and pickle. Some of the sandwich fillings in the poll are Subway ones. There's one in Newport and I had a six-inch Classic Tuna Sub the other day. Their sandwiches are lovely.

My favorite is a Turkey Club ;D, but I do not mine a grilled chicken, ham, or roast beef. I am very picky with Tuna, Chicken, and Roastbeef salad (I do not like any mustard) and do not want them tooooo mayonnaisey (what words).... :-\\ Can not stand peanut butter or burgers (I know I am not an American) 8-P 8-P 8-P (I also do not like mac and cheese) But I do like a good tongue sandwich if available :P Call me weird, eclectic tastes

My favorite sandwich is a big old greasy Philly Cheesesteak, preferably served with steak fries (also called "Jojos") and lots of root beer- preferably Virgil's, Steelhead (only available in Eugene, Oregon and surrounding areas) or Hires, although Barq's, Dad's or A&W will do the job quite well. I eat plenty of cheesesteaks, along with cheeseburgers, roast beef sandwiches and Reubens, despite having had quadruple-bypass heart surgery in 1992 and having rather high cholesterol levels. After all, I'm pushing 70, my family has no history of heart trouble, and you only live once, so what the Heck? :)
