Subject: The Chosen - I Seriously Love It!

The Chosen has become a major global phenomenon. Among other things, it is the largest crowdfunded series ever. It has broken records at the box office and other venues. It is dubbed into multiple languages (with more forthcoming). And it has won a number of awards.
Regardless of the hoopla, it is my favorite current TV show.
The Washington Examiner descibes The Chosen as "the first multi-season historical drama based on the life of Jesus" as they annouce the Season 4 trailer: story.
Here's a clip of the show, from season 2. Jesus, forcibly taken into custody by Rome, is thrust into his first meeting with the not-so-benevolent Quintus (the Roman ruler of the portion of Galilee that includes Capernaum, an underling of Pontius Pilate):

Currently The Chosen is available on Netflix (only season 1?), Amazon Prime, Peacock, Apple TV, fubo TV, Google Play, and has also aired weekly on The CW network (although I don't know if this will continue). There is also a The Chosen Roku app with all shows plus bonus features. Plus a phone app, also with all shows and bonus features. The show (unless seen in theaters) airs for free (although Amazon Prime has been known to stick a viewing fee on parts of it from time to time).

Yesterday (January 8th) a brand new trailer for Season 4 was released as a commercial during the College Football Championship 2024 (Michigan vs Washington) broadcast as a commercial. Since it's unsure whether it will continue airing as a commercial, I'll post it here.

As much has happened with The Chosen since January 2024 - the release of Season 4, the filming of Season 5, and the announcement of new projects, here's a Variety article describing their new updates:

It is a great show! It's literally like watching a visual version of the Bible. I'm watching Season 4 currently.

Glad to hear you like it too. I have to say, it took me a little time to "make peace" with the end of Season 4's episode 3. But I have.
