In November 2015, the BBC announced that the fifth series of The Voice UK will be their last. That same month, ITV announced they had acquired the rights to air The Voice UK for three additional series, as well as plans for two series' of The Voice Kids and a spin-off series to air on ITV2, to begin airing in 2017.

The Voice has it's final run on the BBC starting in the new year.

Judge Ricky Wilson (Kaiser Chiefs) recently confirmed that he has no plans to return to the BBC singing competition once it moves over to ITV, who bought the format after outbidding the Beeb.

"This is my last one anyway, yeah. I was going to bow out gracefully," he previously told The Mirror. "I don’t think ITV would want me. They would want to have a totally new show."

During the battle rounds Paloma Faith decided to keep 17-year-old Faith Nelson and send ex-Liberty X singer Kevin Simm home. Former Liberty X singer Kevin Simm has won BBC talent show The Voice, beating runner-up Jolan. The 35-year-old said he was shocked to win the public vote, saying: "I can't believe it. "I'm just so grateful to everyone that's voted for me. I couldn't have dreamed this would happen, especially at my ripe old age." Olly Murs joins The Voice as a judge, the singer took to Twitter to confirm that he is to join the ITV talent show after former panellist Gavin Rossdale bowed out after the last series. Olly will join remaining judges will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Jennifer Hudson when the new series starts and auditions kick off in Salford on 14 October. In a statement, he revealed said he was "buzzing".
