We had Geico many, many moons ago. Bought a brand new car and about a month after we bought it, we were on the road and it was raining. We stopped at a restaurant as just as soon as we got inside the hail came down. I'm talking fist-size hail. Man, was the car beaten up. Broke the sunroof. Geico paid to have it repaired but raised our premium as if it was our fault that it hailed. We switched to State Farm. (Today we have USAA for our car & home and Progressive for our van but we are looking into getting USAA for the van, too.)

I would say that the Progressive commercials is really annoying in my opinion. Every time, Flo just says that you can get better car insurance with Progressive, even though it's just a stupid gimmick. I don't even find the commercials to be funny.

The Viagra ads where they show some old chick extolling the benefits of this elixir are starting to grate on me.  They all follow the same formula: some exotic chick (either exotic looking or with a foreign accent) talks about how Viagra helps men of a certain age get and keep (their emphasis) a woody.

For the past few years John Lewis (department store in the UK) have done a cheesy Christmas special advert.  Its 'launch' is eagerly awaited by many.  It usually features a cover version of a popular song (often a capella or slower than the original).

This year's features a young girl spotting a lonely old man who lives on the moon and sending him a gift floated there on balloons.

Anyway, this isn't the commercial I love.

I love the Aldi Christmas ads that manage to include their "I like these ones... and I like these" catchphrase and take the mick out of the John Lewis ad by featuring the old guy on the moon!

The problem is, she gets her “pee check” two days early... just gives her a two day head start on blowing all her money.

And the “two days early” thing is not guaranteed. So the next remittance may not credit to her account early... meaning now she has a couple more days to have to wait for her “pee check”. And it’s not like she could then bum some money from her friends, because they’re all PO’d at her lording her early check over their heads.

Okay, please tell me that I'm not the only person on this earth who finds this ad to be particularly irritating?

Every year from November 1 - January 1 they keep this ad going and going and going.  And NO I don't like Michael Buble.  Every time I see this ad I just want to smash him in the face.  I don't buy things that involve a celebrity endorsement.
I don't know why I don't like Michael Buble.  He just rubs me the wrong way.  And I just wish that the Bubly sparkling water company had just chosen a better spokesperson but there's not much I can do about it except hitting the mute button on my remote control.

OK, here’s a commercial I can’t stand.  It is for Stars Casino, an online gambling site.

First you have the guy with the ridiculous man-bun, who tells his mother how much money he’s making whilst gambling. He’s then followed up by a guy who is convinced that the online casino is “something I need to be part of”. 

When I lived in the Midwest, when the casinos came in, their advertising was how you could become a “big shot” by gambling. Well, I had two co-workers who ruined their lives and ended up dead due to gambling addiction. So naturally I get frosted any time I see these ads. You play the casinos… you’re not a big shot. You’re not a player.  you’re going to be a loser. And the more you play, the more you lose.  My two coworkers lost it all. >:(

The other night I was walking through the break room at work and as I went past the TV, this commercial just happened to come on. The 22 year-old new guy was sitting there taking his break and I told him, "Man, I can't believe they still show this commercial. I remember seeing it on TV when I was a kid back in the 70's." He thought that was pretty cool.

These commercials are REALLY getting my goat. They are for "Better Help" which seems to be some kind of online therapy service. These "depressed" people (presumably actual people) we are supposed to feel empathy with come across as insufferably smug (and a little creepy), and the "that's unhelpful" slogan comes across as insufferably condescending. Totally agree. There was a time when they were illegal. But they are a good excuse for Big Pharma to raise their prices claiming research when in fact it is advertising. I do laugh at all the side effects they list. Sometimes it sounds like the side effects are worse than whatever the drug is for.

-The drug that is supposed to stop tremors caused by "mental health" drugs may cause "mental health" episodes.
