Written By: karen on 01/01/25 at 2:03 pm
Broadcasting legend Johnnie Walker has died at the age of 79. He had been ill for sometime with pulmonary fibrosis. The condition forced him to stop broadcasting BBC Radio 2 shows Sounds of the Seventies and The Rock Show back in October.

American members may have heard him back in the late seventies as he had a brief spell in the USA. According to Wikipedia he worked for radio stations KSAN in San Francisco, KPFA in Berkeley, California, in January 1981, and WHFS in Bethesda, Maryland

Over the years i had been a Johnnie Walker listener, and when forced to stop broadcasting continued to listen to Bob Harris, the replacement of the Sunday afternoon radio show.
I am saddened on that news.
