Kris Kristofferson, the legendary actor and country singer-songwriter, has died. He was 88. :\'(
A representative for the star said he was surrounded by family when he died "peacefully" at his home in Maui on Saturday, Sept. 28.

Among his songwriting credits are "Me and Bobby McGee", "For the Good Times", "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down", and "Help Me Make It Through the Night", all of which were hits for other artists. 8)

I am bummed about this. I was much into him, especially in the 70s. As a musician and songwriter. Not so much the movie thing, but I guess that was part of the package. I bought albums of his back then that nobody ever heard of like "Surreal Thing" (1976) and "Shake Hands With The Devil" (1979). "Surreal Thing" especially was a good one. Best album you never heard.

I was saddened by this news, I have always liked him as a singer and an actor.

I loved him when he played the bad guy in films like Fire Down Below and Payback. If you've never seen Payback before, be sure to not watch the Director's Cut because Kris' character is cut out completely and replaced with this woman on a voice box a'la Charlie's Angels.
