Chino XL, (real name, Derek Keith Barbosa) the celebrated New York rapper whose bold lyrics earned him acclaim in the hip hop community, has died. :\'( He was 50. No cause of death has been released. :-\\

His debut album, Here To Save You All, arrived in 1996 to critical acclaim. The next 20 years would see Chino release several more albums, including 2001’s I Told You So, 2005’s Poison Pen, and 2012’s Ricanstruction: The Black Rosary. Amongst his biggest hits were tracks "Kreep," "No Complex," "Sickology 101,” and "The Anthem.”😎

I've never heard of him.
Not only did he rap but he was also an actor. From his Wikipedia page:
Barbosa acted in numerous films and on television, signing with Hollywood talent manager Stacey Castro and subsequently appearing as a guest star on the Comedy Central series Reno 911! and CBS series CSI: Miami. His feature film credits include a co-starring role opposite Kate Hudson and Luke Wilson in director Rob Reiner's Alex & Emma (Warner Bros. Pictures) and several indie films, including Brandon Sonnier's The Beat, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. 8)
He was also apparently very smart, as he was a member of Mensa International.

Chino’s family has released a statement that says he died due to suicide. :\'(
