Legendary hit songwriter Mark James (born Francis Rodney Zambon) has passed away at the age of 83. :\'(

His hit compositions include Always on My Mind, crooned by Willie Nelson as well as Elvis Presley and Brenda Lee :-*, Hooked on a Feeling first recorded by ‘BJ’ Thomas and covered by Blue Swede (with their weird “ooga-chagga” intro) and Suspicious Minds, sung by Elvis Presley. 8)
James was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2014. BMI named him one of its Songwriters of the Century in 2000, citing all three of the aforementioned tunes as being on a list of the 100 greatest songs of the 20th century. 8)
