This leaves Donnie Schell as the only surviving ”regular” from Gomer Pyle, USMC. :-\\
Any reboot would need a whole new cast.

It was Ronnie Schell. He was a comedian and actor. Donnie Schell was a football player for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 70s and 80s.
