Legendary country songwriter and music producer Jerry Abbott has passed away at the age of 80. :\'(

In addition to his extensive country music cred, he was father (and album producer) to two giants of heavy metal who have moved to that Great Sound Stage In the Sky - Vinnie Paul and Dimebag Darrell of the Uber-metal group Pantera. 8)
