Last April, Lewis revealed on social media that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and had also undergone multiple surgeries for other issues over the last three years.

"I've had sort of a rocky time," he said, revealing he'd undergone back surgery, shoulder surgery, shoulder replacement surgery and hip replacement surgery. "I had four surgeries, back to back to back. It was incredible... It was bad luck, but it's life," Lewis said.

He was also a fixture on the late night talk show circuit, including Johnny Carson (22 shows), David Letterman (44 appearances), and Gonad O’Brian (12 appearances).  8)

He completed the 12th and final season of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" before he died. It's four episodes in, and, unless Larry throws a massive curveball, I can see where it's leading. Shades of the "Seinfeld" finale.

He also played the psychiatrist in in the sitcom George Lopez.

I loved him on the sitcom Anything But Love and the film Robin Hood: Men in Tights and this short lived sitcom from the 90s called Hiller and Diller

R.I.P. to a great talent
