Subject: Now Just Starsky: 'Hutch' David Soul Passes On at 80
Written By: Indy Gent on 01/05/24 at 11:29 am
David Soul, one-half of the TV action team with Paul-Michael Glazer in the series "Starsky and Hutch" is dead at 80. Soul also had a successful singing career with "Don't Give Up on Us" and "Silver Lady" among his hits. He will be missed.

Better to have crushed on him instead of his knucklehead brother, the “reverend” Daniel Solberg. Daniel was a real butt-head in the Pittsburgh area back in the 80s… causing all sorts of mayhem and ultimately being defrocked by his own denomination.

I did hear that David wasn't exactly the pillar of virtue either. I heard he was an abusive alcoholic.

I just found out that he married Bobby Sherman's (who was also on HCTB) ex. I wonder if there was something going on before she was an ex.

Yes. Patti Carnel Sherman was David’s 3rd wife (out of 5).
His second wife was Karen Carlson, who was Miss Arkansas in 1964. She was in HCTB as well as Starsky & Hutch, and played with Chuck Norris in The Octagon. 8)
His fourth wife was Julia Nickson, who played the role of a Vietnamese partisan in Rambo: First Blood, Part II. (She was half Singaporean).
Dude had game…

I was glad to see both of them make a cameo at the end of the Starsky & Hutch movie in 2004, where David practically had to stop Paul from arm-wrestling Ben Stiller(the film's Starsky) over the Torino's keys. Interestingly, David tried his hand at TV directing in the 80's, most notably "No Exit", a first-season episode of Miami Vice, before moving to London in the mid-90's. You'll be missed, David.
Your Pal,
Doc

Julia Nickson, but I think that was a typo or a spell check error. ;)
Typo fixed. :-[
