In 1965, he formed the Association in L.A. alongside Jules Gary Alexander, Russ Giguere, Ted Bluechel Jr., Brian Cole and Bob Page, who was quickly replaced by Jim Yester. The group consisted of a large ensemble of vocalists and instrumentalists known for their intricate vocal harmonies.

In their heyday, they dominated the airwaves with schmaltzy hits such as “Cherish”, “Windy”, “One Too Many Mornings”, “Everything That Touches You”, “Never My Love”, and many more.  8)

"One Too many Mornings" was written by Bob Dylan and is not a schmaltzy song in the least. It's dead serious. The way the Association did it is schmaltzy however. They did everything that way.
