I hope he found his long-lost shaker of salt. "Margaritaville" was always such a delightful, chill song.

Side note, the following link lays to rest any speculation that Jimmy Buffett and Warren Buffet are related. Back in ‘18 they even did a DNA test. ;D

And he died on the Labor Day weekend! Remember the lyric from his first big hit "Come Monday" in 1974, when we all first heard of him:

I will never be able to hear Margaritaville without thinking of one night when we were living in our old house. Our tenant/friend from upstairs came down and the three of us were drinking margaritas. She kept saying, "Play it again. Play it again." We played that song I don't know how many times that night.

The next morning I had a wicked hangover. We were going to see a show that was about 2 hours away and man, it was really hard to lift my head up not to say getting ready to hit the road. We didn't have to go see the show but I really wanted to see it-hangover or not. It was a struggle but we made it.

The friend still talks about that night. She too, will never be able to hear this song without thinking of that night.

The cause of Mr. Buffett’s death has been reported as Merkel Cell skin cancer, a very rare and fast spreading form. According to Wikipedia, it affects 3 in 1,000,000 people. :-\\

I had no idea when I got to see him live in December of '21.
He even closed with one of my favorite of his songs, "Floridays"!
