Ellsberg's Pentagon Papers, published first in The New York Times then The Washington Post, led to political retaliation from the Nixon administration and a landmark Supreme Court case on whistleblowers and freedom of the press, and became a prelude to Watergate.

I wonder how many Watergate-adjacent figures are still alive.

If it were not for the ineptness of the FBI and a few other people, this guy shoulda spent the rest of his life in prison.
