Dude was a legend in Chicago. He had 13 or 14 murders to his name, including the brutal rubout of brothers Tony “The Ant” Spilotro and Mickey Spilotro back in ‘86. Their murders were immortalized in the movie Casino, with Joe Pesci playing the role inspired by Tony. Some 21 years later, Nicky testified to these murders under a plea deal with the FBI, where he got a lenient 12-year sentence in exchange for ratting out his fellow mobsters in what came to be known as Operation Family Secrets. Lots of Chicago Outfit guys including Joey “The Clown” Lombardo and even Nicky’s own brother Frank “Frankie Breeze” Calabrese :o got sent up the river on that deal. :-X
Mickey spent the last few years of his life in the witness protection program, knowing that if he ever showed his face in Chicago he’d be quickly exterminated. :-\\
