Hall of Fame baseball player and TV sports analyst Tim McCarver has passed away at the age of 81. :\'(

He switched to television soon after retiring in 1980 and became best known to national audiences for his 18-year partnership on Fox with play-by-play man Joe Buck. 8)

I remember him mostly as a broadcaster. Especially during the MLB postseason on FOX. He would be a color commentator in the broadcast booth with Joe Buck.
I also know that he played in MLB as a catcher. And he was one of a handful of players to be active in four calendar decades; in his case: 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.
Anyways, R.I.P. to Timmy. :\'(

He apparently died from congestive heart failure in his native Memphis, TN. :\'(
