Dan McCafferty, lead singer for the legendary Scottish 🏴 rock band Nazareth, has passed away at the age of 76. :\'(

McCafferty was born and raised in Dunfermline, Scotland, where he formed Nazareth in 1968 with Pete Agnew, guitarist Manny Charlton, and drummer Darrell Sweet. They took their name from the reference to Nazareth, PA in the Band’s classic “The Weight” (“I pulled into Nazareth, was feelin’ about half past dead”). 8)
One of their biggest tunes was their 1975 cover of Love Hurts, an old Everly Brothers song.
Those guys really kicked butt in their heyday, and Dan’s vocals were a huge part of it. :)
