Subject: Heavyweight Earnie Shavers Takes His Final 10-Count

Legendary heavyweight boxer Earnie Shavers, who duked it out in the ring with the likes of Muhammad Ali and Larry Holmes, has unlaced his gloves at the age of 78. :\'( No cause of death has been released.

Earnie was of modest size for a boxer, at only 6’ tall and 210 pounds. But he earned a reputation as “the hardest hitting man in boxing.” 8)
Ali had dubbed Shavers “The Acorn” before their 1977 fight because of Earnie’s shaved bald head. But Ali had to fight a brilliant 15th round to get the decision and afterward uttered one of his greatest lines when talking about Shavers’ punching power.
“Earnie hit me so hard, it shook my kinfolk in Africa,” Ali said after the fight. ;D
