Subject: Celtics Great Bill Russell Dies at 88
Written By: Indy Gent on 07/31/22 at 1:04 pm
It is with great sorrow that Bill Russell, a legendary NBA star in the 60s, has passed on at the age of 88. From his college days at San Francisco to his Celtics reign as player and head coach, Russell's 11 championship wins might never be equaled. He will be missed.

Yes, he was an all-around great guy. Not just on the court, but elsewhere too. RIP Bill :\'(
He is not to be confused with another sport figure with this name - the former longtime Dodgers player and coach who replaced Tommy Lasorda as Dodgers manager. That guy is still around.

There are quite a few Bill Russell’s with whom he could be confused. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Russell
