Former Death Row Records mononymous performer, singer, and songwriter Jewell (full name, Jewell Caples, not to be confused with the Alaskan singer-songwriter Jewel Kilcher) has passed away at the young age of 53. No cause has been released so far. :\'(

Jewell signed with Death Row in ‘92, was known as “The First Lady of Death Row Records”, and performed with all the big names like Dre, Snoop, N.W.A., and Tupac during the heyday of Death Row when Suge Knight was ruling that part of the music world.
