The actor – who was known for starring as struggling writer Bernie Steinberg in 1970s sitcom Bridget Loves Bernie and St. Elsewhere – passed away on Friday after suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and his former co-star and ex-wife Meredith Baxter was “very saddened” by his death.

I remember David from St. Elsewhere. He was only there for season 1 before being written out. He was also in the movie 'Oh God - Book II'. If I recall, he was also briefly on the drama series 'Family' with Meredith
