Mandy Allwood, named “The Octomum” back in 1996 when she gave birth to octuplets in England (none of whom, sadly, survived), has passed away at the age of 56, apparently from cancer. :\'(
She is not to be confused with Nadya Suleman, known as the Octomom, who gave birth to octuplets in 2009, in the United States.

I made the same mistake.
Curiously, the Octomom's kids just turned 13.

Curiously, the Octomom's kids just turned 13.
The Octomum also had a set of triplets after her initial octo. But somewhere along the line she got addicted to booze and she lost custody of the triplets. :\'(
