Damn. I love The Ventures. I can play a mean "Walk, Don't Run" and I've been learning the Hawaii Five-O Theme. Surf rock seems like the easiest/funnest thing to play on guitar. It's hard not to pay attention to the lead guitar, but rhythm guitar tends to be underrated nowadays.

I saw a street musician not long ago who had a Danelectro guitar. I hadn't seen one of those in ages. They were quite integral to the "surf" sound.
