Cara Williams, legendary for her portrayal in The Defiant Ones as well as for her role as Gladys in the 1960s TV sitcom Pete and Gladys (Henry Morgan portrayed her hisband Pete), has left the stage at the age of 96. :\'(

Born Bernice Kamiat in Brooklyn, NY, she was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in Stanley Kubrick’s The Defiant Ones. 8)
My parents used to tune into Pete & Gladys every week. Probably because my Dad’s nickname was Pete. ;D

Not Henry Morgan. It was Harry Morgan (later of M*A*S*H fame) who played Pete. I remember "Pete and Gladys", I can't believe she was still alive!

Morgan made his screen debut (originally using the name "Henry Morgan") in the 1942 movie To the Shores of Tripoli. His screen name later became "Henry 'Harry' Morgan" and eventually Harry Morgan, to avoid confusion with the popular humorist of the same name.
His birth name was actually Harry Bratsberg. Adding to the confusion, his father was named Henry. ;D

Whenever I think of "Henry Morgan" I think of THIS guy. He was a staple on game shows and talk shows in the 1960s but never seemed to do anything else. There were several of this type of person back then. Peggy Cass was another. So was Bess Myerson, a former Miss America who later got herself into trouble in the 80s when she went into politics in New York.
