Beyond "Late Show," Kalter had done hundreds of voiceovers for national radio and television commercials. He was also the announcer for New York-based television shows including "To Tell the Truth," "The $25,000 Pyramid," "The Money Maze," and "The $100,000 Question."
Some of my favorite Letterman bits were when he'd go into a fit of rage, storm off, track down the celebrity who insulted him and give them a good sock in the face; Alan Kalter's Celebrity Interview (usually with the same big guest that Dave's about to sit down with); and when he'd advertise products in a sexy way. Also when he's say something random and funny over the Worldwide Pants logo.
RIP Big Red.
