Willard Scott, legendary for his work as a weatherman in the Today Show, as well as being the original Ronald McDonald for the McDonald’s burger chain,, has passed away all too soon. He was 87 years old. :\'(

Willard only played Ronald locally in Washington, D.C. in the early 60's. Before McDonald's took the character national, they decided he wasn't right for the part, despite that he basically named and created the mascot.
