Legendary “studio wrestler” Domenic DeNucci (birth name, Domenico Nucciarone), famous for his effective “airplane spin” maneuver where he would vanquish an opponent by hoisting the opponent on his shoulders then spinning him into a stupor, has passed away at the age of 89 in Freedom, PA. :\'(

Domenic was one of the few surviving wrestlers from the Pittsburgh Studio Wrestling era. Fighters such as Domenic, Bobby “Hurricane” Hunt, Bruno Sammartino, “Jumping” Johnny DeFazio, George “The Animal” Steele, “Captain” Lou Albano, Charles Martoni (“The Masked Marvel”), Professor Tanaka, “Killer” Kowalski and countless others would grapple it out every Saturday night on Channel 11 in The Burgh. 8)
Can’t help but think that Ringside Rosie has welcomed Domenic to that Great Wrestling Mat in the Sky by waving her rubber chicken at him. ;D
