Legendary dope smuggler George Jung, also known as Boston George and El Americano back in his drug running days, has passed at the age of 78.

George was the inspiration for the movie “Blow”.
At one point he was the main conduit for Pablo Escobar’s coke smuggling into the USA. But then Pablo cut him out of the deal. Later George returned to smuggling marijuana, but a cohort ratted him out to the Feds, and he did a 20 year stint in the slam. George had something like $60MM stashed in a Panamanian bank, but once Noriega got pushed out, the bank was nationalized and took all of his money.
But in the early 80’s, if you were doing blow, there was an 80% chance that George’s operation hauled it.
