Sir Sean Connery has died at the age of 90, his family has said.
The Scottish actor was best known for his portrayal of James Bond, being the first to bring the role to the big screen and appearing in seven of the spy thrillers.
His acting career spanned decades and his many awards included an Oscar, two Bafta awards and three Golden Globes.
Sir Sean's other films included The Hunt for Red October, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and The Rock.

I am sorry to hear this. He was a true icon. To me he is still THE James Bond. 8)

A film channel over has been showing Sean Connery pre Bond films, now I am making a point in viewing them.

I was never really into Bond but I did like him in The Last Crusade and Medicine Man. If you haven't seen Medicine Man, I highly recommend it.

Another really good one he was in is "The Name of the Rose", a sort of murder mystery set in medieval times with monks.

I haven't seen too many Bond movies because they're never immediately available to me. (The ones I've seen the most of are from Dalton and Brosnan.) Same with Indiana Jones. (Only seen Crystal Skull.)
Of his movies I've only seen Medicine Man (Thank you, science class) and Just Cause (Thank you, culturally illiterate boomer grandparents who randomly decided to watch it either on cable TV or Netflix).

I don't think my dad ever missed seeing a James Bond movie with Connery in it. Those were the best Bond films, especially Goldfinger and Thunderball. RIP: Sir Sean :\'(
