Legendary New York Yankees pitcher Edward Charles “Whitey” Ford has passed away at the age of 91. :\'(

Yes, he was a truly great pitcher in his day.
And tonight, before the Yankees took the field for their final ALDS game, they donned uniforms with the newly-sewn number 16 on the left sleeve to honor him. :\'( I'm not sure if they (and the Rays) took a moment of silence beforehand, but I would not be surprised if they did.
